Beatrice Kuretsch

Beatrice “Bea” (Hajek) Kuretsch at age 68 went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 22, 2021.

She was born September 20, 1952, in El Campo, TX to John and Gilbertine (Urbanovsky) Hajek. She attended El Campo High School (Class of 1971) and continued her education at Wharton County Junior College. Bea was a homemaker while her husband owned his business. Shortly after he started teaching at the high school, she began to substitute and later became a full-time clerical aide for El Campo Middle School with 20 years of loyal service before retiring.

She was an active member of St John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, and playing Wahoo with her family. She enjoyed her family especially her grandson and attending movies with her husband.

Preceded in death by her parents John and Gilbertine Hajek. She is survived by her husband, Larry Kuretsch of 41.5 years; daughter, Cheryl Kuretsch and grandson, Ethan Kuretsch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 29, 2021 at St John’s Lutheran Church, 614 Pecan St, Wharton, TX 77488 with Rev. Lutjens officiating. Burial in Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Wheeler Funeral Home, 612 W Jackson St, El Campo, TX 77437.

Pallbearers are Ernest “Skip” Hajek, Billy Nitsche, Deacon Rusty Theut, Stan Theut, Shawn Hicks, Nathan Kuretsch, and honorary pallbearer, Ethan Kuretsch.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by her doctor and nurses at Medical Clinic of Houston, Houston Methodist Hospital, and Houston Hospice in El Campo. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to Yay 4 Life, Houston Hospice of El Campo, or St. John’s Lutheran Church building fund.
