Steve Lopez received his angel wings on August 28, 2020 at the age of 48. He was born on January 2, 1972 in El Campo to Lupe and Minnie Garza Lopez. Steve was a loving husband, caring father and wonderful Popo. He was one of a kind with few words. He enjoyed his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. They were truly his greatest treasure! Steve was a hard and dedicated worker. When not working he loved BBQing, so much he was on a BBQ team called Over Heated Cookers. Steve will be missed by family and friends.

Steve is survived by his wife, Raychel Guajardo Lopez of Richmond; sons, Steve Lopez, Jr. of Richmond, Stanley Acuna, Jr. and wife Mindy of El Campo; daughter, Rachelle Acuna of Beasley; mother, Minnie Garza Lopez of West Columbia; brothers, Bennie Lopez and wife Sheila of Katy, Lupe Lopez, Jr. of West Columbia; and his treasured grandchildren, Kylie Acuna, Maddie Acuna, Peyton Acuna, Mylie Acuna, Stanley Acuna III, Elijah Acosta and Luke Acosta. He was preceded in death by his father, Lupe Lopez, Sr.

Visitation begins at 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Wheeler Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. Pastor Ramiro G. Jaime will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Lopez, Brandon Lopez, Braeden Lopez, Benjamin Lopez, Ben Acuna, Jr. and Joey Acosta.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home.
