Santos Abelar III

Santos Abelar, III, 58, of El Campo, TX, passed away on January 4, 2025, in Sugar Land, Texas. He was born on December 31, 1966, In El Campo to Santos Abelar, Jr, and Mary E Abelar. He attended El Campo High School and worked as a machine operator for El Campo Rice Dyer.

Santos was a man with many interests; fishing, gardening, cooking, watching NASCAR, his favorite football team the Washington Redskins. He was a kind, loving, sincere person loved by many. He also was a good husband, provider, and loved being with and playing with his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father Santos Abelar, Jr. and his brother Abel Abelar.

Santos is survived by his spouse of 28 years Emma Medina; mother; Mary E Abelar; sisters, Agatha Pratt (Lothario) and Susie Abelar (Marvin). Brothers; David Canales (Gracie), Robert Abelar, Martin Abelar, James Abelar (Carol), Adam Abelar, and Mike Abelar (Priscilla). Stepdaughter, Crystal Vega (Kayla Cantu), and Grandson; Logan Cantu.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 6 PM on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary being recited at 6 PM.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10:30 am at the Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Billy Guerrero, officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in El Campo, TX.

Pallbearers will be David Canales, Robert Abelar, Martin Abelar, James Abelar, Mike Abelar, and Christopher Abelar.
