Sandra Cremeens, age 85, passed away peacefully September 28, 2026 at home, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family.
Born in Crossville, Illinois, Sandra was the beloved daughter of Leo and Ruth Roush. She grew up in a Christian family, and the faith and values she learned as a child remained an important part of her life until her passing.
In 1959, Sandra and Gene married, and thanks to the US Army were able to explore the USA and Europe. Shortly before Gene was to deploy once again to Germany in 1979, Sandra and the family moved to El Campo, Texas, to be close to her parents. Sandra quickly became a bona fide Texan.
Sandra was a faithful and devoted wife to Gene Cremeens and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was at the heart of Sandra’s life, and there was little she treasured more than the people she loved.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ruth Roush.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; her daughter, Terri Powers, and her husband, Tracy; her son, David Cremeens, and his wife, Janet; and her grandchildren, Trey, Tara, Brandon, and Megan; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving sister, Donna Dougherty, and Donna’s children, John and Ellen, as well as extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, generosity, humor, and unforgettable personality.
Sandra will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love of family, her sense of humor, and the warmth she shared with those around her. She had a way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and part of her family. Her life was defined not simply by the years she lived, but by the love she gave and the memories she created along the way.
She lived her life with heart, faith in Christ, and a deep love for the people around her. The lessons she taught, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will continue through the generations of her family.
Sandra will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
A note from the family:
Gene, David, and Terri wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to Sandra’s nurses, caregivers and the hospice personnel who assisted in her care.
Maria Bustamante, you were so important to Sandra, and, more importantly, you were loved. Thank you for your friendship and for the care you showed our Sandra.
To all, remember to let your loved ones know you love them.
