El Campo

Listen to Obituary

Louisa “Vicky” Lopez passed peacefully at her home on February 6th, 2026 in El Campo.

Born April 10, 1947 to Lupe and Anita Espinosa in Edna, Tx. She was employed at I-C Manufacturing (Issacson Carrico) for over 35 years as a seamstress until the sudden illness of her husband when she became his caretaker. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 but her battle never changed who she was. Whether it was to help with a benefit cooking her famous Spanish rice, making her out of this world Thanksgiving dressing, where to this day her children cannot get her recipe to be exact, or just being a phone call away for advice or just to gossip.

In her younger years she loved potted plants. There was always home interior parties and Tupperware parties being made. And we cannot forget her love for her favorite show “The Walking Dead”. Her children and her grand children did their best to get to meet the cast and get autographs for her which they did! One surprise was getting to talk to Norman Reedus “Daryl” on the phone and was gifted memorabilia from the show given by AMC Networks.

She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Army veteran Eulalio ‘Lalo” Lopez; her daughter, Karen Lopez (Mike Fucik) of El Campo; son, Roy Lopez (Cindy) of El Campo. Her precious grandchildren, Gabriel Martinez, Jr. of El Campo, Annaliza Martinez (Tyler Vargo) of Austin, Tx and Ariana Lopez (Jack) of Huntsville, Tx. Brother, Eugene Espinosa (Betty) of Houston, Tx and sister Rita Falcon of El Campo; her great granddog Kiara of Austin and her Great Grandcat Dexstar of El Campo.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her youngest daughter, Liza Lopez; brother, Lupe Espinosa of Edna, Tx ; sister, Joyce Mendez of El Campo.

The family extends special thanks to her oncologist, Dr. Kirtan D. Nautiyal MD; Dr. Thai Huynh MD and her cardiologist Dr. Robin L. Yue MD; Angels Home Health Care ( Melinda, Carmen and Angie) and to Houston Hospice who helped caringly in her transition to peace. And a very Special Thank you to her niece, Miranda Rivera who helped from day one of her aunt’s journey battling this disease.
