Leslie Lamar Branscum, better known by most as Marty, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 5, 2024, with family at his side. He was born November 25, 1936, to the late Emery J. and Eunice Sims Branscum. He graduated from Louise High School, class of 1955. Following graduation, he served in the United States Army stationed in Germany, where he also played on their football team. He retired from oilfield construction, but he also worked many years for Red Barn Fertilizer and W.R. Grace Chemicals. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, hunting in south Texas and gardening.
Marty is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donna Marie Thomas Branscum. Together they had a son, Brett Branscum and a daughter, Brenda Moran. Grandchildren include; Blake Moran (Casey), Beau Moran, Wesley Branscum (Jill), great grandchildren; Bryce Moran and Kamryn Moran, Cason Buswell, Kimber Branscum and Wyatt Branscum.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Louise on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Rick DuBroc. Interment will follow at St. Procopius Catholic Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Moran, Beau Moran, Wesley Branscum, Darryl Chromcak, Greg Chromcak and Kinnan Stockton. Honorary pallbearers are John Stockton, John Chromcak, Arte Henke, Scott Strelec and Steve Scott.
In Lieu of usual remembrances donation can be made to the First Baptist Church, 608 1st Street, Louise, TX 77455; Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030 or the charity of ones choice.
