Leobardo Sanchez

Leobardo Sanchez, 89, of Bay City, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Mexico to Emilio Sanchez and M Marcos (Hernandez) Sanchez on January 18, 1936.

He was a devoted father and a hardworking man who always put his family first. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and nothing made him happier than spending time with them. He had a way of keeping everyone smiling with his jokes and those funny little sayings we’ll never forget. He loved to laugh, loved to make others laugh, and never turned down a bowl of banana pudding whenever he could get his hands on it. And on Friday nights, you could always count on him to be watching WWE SmackDown, cheering on his favorite wrestlers. He will be remembered for being a devoted father, grandfather, and friend to many.

He is survived by his three children in Mexico, Arturo Sanchez, Guadalupe Sanchez, Bellanira Sanchez and his three children in Texas, Leobardo Sanchez Jr, Miguel Sanchez (Lemeia), Mary Lou Granados (Rene) plus a host of grandchildren in both Mexico and Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 6 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel. A Prayer Service will begin at 6 PM.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:30 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 in the Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Antonio Perez, officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in El Campo.
