Joe Martinez

In loving memory of Joe G Martinez. Born on April 18th, 1930 in Lyford Tx to the late Amalio and Concha Martinez.  Joe was called home on April 9th 2021 in El Campo Tx at home surrounded by his family.

Joe enjoyed fishing and spending time outside (when it was warm). He loved and valued spending time with his kids and grandkids. To Joe, family was the most important thing in his life. Always ensuring his kids were taken care of up until the end.

He is survived by his Sons: Joe and John Martinez, and daughter Kathy Garcia, His grandchildren Joe (JJ) Martinez, Kylie Martinez, Ben Trevino and Allie Richardson.

Joe was preceded in death by, his brothers Nicolas, Gabriel, and Jesse Martinez. His Sisters, Jensy, Paula and Chelline. He began work at a very young age at Crowell Drilling Co. of Louise, TX. He later retired and became known for the “Snow Cone” he opened and ran in Louise, Texas outside of his home.  He may be gone from the earth but his memory will carry on for generations to come through the Martinez family.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Wheeler Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 6:00 pm.
