Israel Martinez, Sr.

Israel Martinez, Sr. took his final ride on February 11, 2022. He was born May 26, 1955 in Alice to Jose O. Martinez and Maria Rocha Rodriguez. He’s up in heaven now, he took his final ride. He’s with the angels now, flying by his side. He’s riding like an eagle, beyond where we can see. He took that final journey, forever riding free!

Israel is survived by his sons, Israel Rocha Martinez, Jr. and wife Ludy, Mario Martinez, Andrew Martinez and wife Bonnie, Max Martinez; daughters, Laura Montes and husband Gabriel, Norma Bell and husband Jason, Cassandra Causey and husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Ethen Bell, Eric Vega, Andrew Bell, T. J. Martinez, T’Jay Rodriguez, Kylie Bell Adrian Rodriguez, Natalee Martinez, Natan Martinez, Alayna Martinez, Maliha Sanchez, Malana Causey, Maya Causey, Anthony Martinez, Angelica Montes, Ayden Martinez and Aviana Montes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria Martinez; son, Pvt. T. J. Martinez; sister, San Juanita Martinez and brothers, Jesse Martinez and Ismael Martinez.

Visitation begins at 1:00 pm Friday, February 18, 2022, at Wheeler Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm with Jesse Avendano officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.

Serving as pallbearers will be T. J. Martinez, T’Jay Rodriguez, Andrew Bell, Adrian Rodriguez, Eric Vega, Ethen Bell, Jason Bell and Gabriel Montes.
