Irene Schimcek Sedlock, 88, of El Campo passed away April 17, 2025. She was born on April 20, 1936 in Schulenburg, Texas to the late Edmund and Josephine Schenk Schimcek. Irene was a caretaker to 50 plus people.
She is survived by daughters Veronica Richards (Joe) , Carol Ann Hayes (Bobby), Shirley Sedlock, Josephine Sedlock Bales, Sandra Zemanek (Bobby), sons, John Sedlock, James Sedlock; son-in-law Robert Blume; brothers, Marvin Schimcek (Wanda), Charles Schimcek (Bennie), Martin Schimcek; sister, Mary Ann Vinyard.
Irene loved all 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, James E Sedlock, Sr.; daughter, Charlotte Blume; brother, Curtis Schimcek; sister, Earlene Janak.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 10 am at First Baptist Church with funeral service beginning at 11 am. Burial to follow at Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers will be Al Cerny, Al Otradovsky, Steven Janak, Warren Janak, Errol Janak and Larry Cerny.
The Sedlock family wishes to thank Houston Hospice El Campo and Paradigm and their staff especially Cindy Reed, Almeda Johnson, Dionne McDade and Whitney Rebector. We really appreciate the good care you gave Mom, she would always say “Here comes my good help” She always knew she was in good hands on those days that you came to work. We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for their prayers and love and visits. She really enjoyed when people came to visit as it really made her day!
Donations in memory of Irene may be made to First Baptist Church or Houston Hospice.
