It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of HENRY JAMES VOLDAN, 74, at his home on Monday, October 28, 2024. With his family beside him, he left this world peacefully to be with the Lord. He was born on April 1, 1950, in El Campo to the late George and Martha Kunetka Voldan.
He is a 1969 graduate of El Campo High School and a 1995 graduate of Texas Technical School of Victoria with a degree in electronics.
On March 11, 1972, he married the love of his life, Sharon Scotka. To this union they were blessed with three children. During their marriage, they made their home in West Columbia and Bay City before settling down in El Campo. Through his years he worked as a technician for Texas Lottery Commission, a truck driver, a tire repairman, a Pepsi and a beer salesman and also worked for Wharton County, Pct. 3.
He loved bar-b-queuing, fishing on his boat with his family, bowling, going to garage sales and refurbishing old furniture. He truly believed "One man's junk is another man's treasure." He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need even if he was in pain. He also loved to travel to North Dakota to visit his daughter and grandchildren. His family meant the world to him and he enjoyed his grandchildren by playing board games and puzzles with them.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of 52 years, his daughter, Samantha (Dennis) Norby, Jr. of Valley City, North Dakota; sons, Heath (Mandy) Voldan of Wharton and Jonathan (Christi) Voldan of Ganado and 16 grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Gloria Konvicka and Carolyn Cernoch of El Campo, Beverly (Richard) Kolonko, Jr. of Lake Jackson and Doylene Amey of Montgomery; brother, Stanley (Karen-sister of Sharon) Voldan of Hillje.
