Glenn Ray Roddy, 78, of El Campo, Texas, passed away April 21, 2026, in Katy, Texas. He was born in El Campo, Texas on April 20, 1948, to Ethel Einkauf Roddy and Casper Wit Roddy. He graduated from El Campo High School.
Glenn loved his time working as the cashier for the family donut shop. He greeted everyone with a friendly smile and would most likely remember your name.
He loved El Campo and all the people in his hometown. He was a faithful man, who served as a Deacon in his home church. Late in life he went to live at a group home where he was known to all as “Uncle.”
In the last weeks he was ready to go home to be with his Lord and his beloved Moma, Dad and brothers.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Casper Wit Roddy, mother, Ethel Einkauf Roddy, and brothers, Royce and Dennis Roddy.
He is survived by his nieces; Tammy Loyd and nephew Mitch Loyd, Debbie Frakey and nephew Stephen. Great nieces and nephews, Courtney and Chas Gryseels, Tiffany and Jeremy Binegar, Audry Binegar and Madison Binegar, Chase Binegar Millard Loyd and Luke Gryseels. Cousins Donnie and Sherri Roddy and numerous other relatives, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 PM, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Wheeler Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1 PM, with Pastor Bob Hobbins, officiating. A Private Burial will be held in the Speaks Cemetery, Speaks, Texas. Pallbearers will be Mitch Loyd, Millard Loyd, Stephen Frakey, Chas Gryseels, and Donnie Roddy.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the Staff at Ignite Medical Resort for the professional care of Glenn.
In lieu of usual remembrance donations can be made the Cerebral Palsy Treatment, 2819 Imperial Drive, Sugar Land, Texas 77479.
