April 12, 1931 — June 26, 2024

Eva Lois Williams passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on June 26, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Eva Lois was born on April 12, 1931 in Bonus, TX to Claud and Lula Belle Johnston Jacobs. How special to be reunited with her love on what would have been their 75th wedding anniversary. Eva Lois married her husband Raymond on June 26th, 1949 in El Campo, TX.Few people knew this about Eva Lois but she was a licensed cosmetologist but chose to be a stay at home mom with her 3 children and she never regretted her decision. Eva Lois loved her family and loved playing cards and games especially with them but mainly her grandchildren. She also loved cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting making many a garment even a wedding dress for her daughter Doris and daughter-in-law Brenda and she also made Barbie clothes .She loved reading and that included her Bible. Eva Lois and her husband loved camping and square dancing and even pulled their camper to Alaska. You could often see her enjoying a nice cold Dr. Pepper as that was her favorite drink. Eva Lois also loved working in her yard but for the last 8 years had been a resident at Paradigm at The Prairies due to Alzheimer’s disease.

That ugly disease took much away from her and her family but she still had her whit, charm and sense of humor and she was often seen playing Solitaire and Dominoes there.

She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved spoiling her family with her Millionaire candy n chocolate chip n oatmeal cookies during the holidays. She also enjoyed watching fireworks and made sure her grandchildren had money to buy them and the family would enjoy them together. 

She was a member of First Christian Church and at one time Memorial Baptist Church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. 

As a young mother she was involved in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She also loved being a member of The Order Of The Eastern Star and in her younger years helping with The Rainbow Girls who she loved and they loved, respected and admired her however she lost her membership due to being in the nursing home and was unable to attend meetings.

 Eva Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond O. Williams; son Eugene A,(Gene) Williams of San Antonio and daughter Doris A. Williams Varnell of Dripping Springs. She also lost her baby brother Donald who she shared her birthday with and loved so much at a young age of 2.  Also preceded in death are her other siblings Marvin Jacobs of El Campo, Ruby Wright of Missouri, Gladys Melchor of El Campo and Bruce Jacobs of Pflugerville and Great-Great Grandson Bennet Galyean of Wichita Falls in March at just 2 days old.

She is survived by her son William C. (Billy) Williams and wife Brenda of El Campo; daughter-in-law, Raguell Williams of San Antonio. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren Jennifer Campbell, Brian Varnell, Chad Varnell, Allison Williams, Tiffany Charvet, Stephanie Rodriguez, Lisa Johnston and Kevin Williams; twenty two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild ; several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kamryn Rodriguez, Brian Varnell, Grayson, Williams, Davis Grayson, Carter Williams and Grant Williams.

Visitation will begin at 3 pm at First Christian Church on Monday, July 1, 2024 with funeral services beginning at 4 pm. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home in El Campo.
