Eloisa Martinez Cantu, age 78, went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 7, 2019. She was born October 30, 1940 in Karnes City, Tx to the late Gregorio and Maria Campos Martinez. She is a member of St. Robert's Catholic Church and a former employee of I-C Manufacturing.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Cantu of El Campo; sons, Ernest Cantu and Gracie of Bay City, Elliott Cantu and Daisy Claire of Plano; daughters, Elsie Cantu of El Campo, Ernestine Garcia and Jorge Gutierrez of Danevang, Elaine Apostle and Mark of Katy; brothers, Benselardo Martinez of El Campo; sister, Oralia Gonzales of Pawnee; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gregorio Martinez, Jr., Pete Martinez, Tony Martinez; sister, Mary Mendoza.
Visitation will begin at 4 pm Monday, June 10, 2019 at Wheeler Funeral Home with the rosary being recited at 7 pm. Funeral mass is 11 am, Tuesday at St. Robert's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Ramirez, Noe Puentes, Danny Valdez, Vense Martinez, Jr., Eusebio Hernandez, Marcus Cantu. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Gutierrez and Corrie Apostle.
At the family's request donations may be made to St. Robert's Catholic Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer's Foundation in memory of Eloisa Cantu.
