Cruz Melchor

Cruz Vargas Melchor passed away November 22, 2023 in Houston at the age of 85 surrounded by family. She was born May 3, 1938 in Flatonia, Tx to the late Teodoro and Antonia Casto Vargas.

She is survived by sons, Ismael Moreno, Jr., Larry Melchor, Sr., Domingo Melchor, Sr., Michael Melchor, Mario Melchor, Rudy Melchor, Sr., Eric Melchor; daughters, Diana Hooks, Sylvia Montalvo, Elizabeth Vargas, Michelle Jaramillo, Christina Montalvo, Amie Olguin; sister, Juanita Gonzalez; 62 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Clark Moreno, Sr.; brothers, Victor Vargas, George Vargas, Damasio Vargas, Daniel Vargas; sisters, Tomasa Vargas, Florencia Martinez, Isabel Martinez, Teodora Reyna, Margaret Rodriguez, Maria Rodriguez, and Antonia Rosas.

Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Robert’s Catholic Church. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow at LaColonia Cemetery.
