Chris Elliot Caraway

Chris Elliot Caraway of El Campo, Tx, passed away September 20th at the age of 65 in Eagle Lake, Tx. Chris was born to Glen Odell Caraway and Betty Jo (Childress) Caraway on March 13th, 1960 in El Campo, Tx. He played on the Varsity football team in High School. After graduating from High School, he attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Tx obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He was employed as an accountant, with Southmark Industries in Houston, Tx for 30+ years. Chris loved watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, and enjoyed visiting the guys at Stephen’s Auto Body Repairs in El Campo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Caraway. He is survived by his two sisters, Sandy Howard (Ricky) and Vicki Vackar (Louis), sister-in-law Linda Caraway. Nieces and nephews Clint Howard, Brooke Marlatt, Troy Vackar, Lindsey Davidson, Erin Rodriguez, Clayton Caraway, and 10 great nieces and nephews.

The family is planning a private Memorial Service. In lieu of usual remembrances the family asks that donation be made in Chris’ name to the First Baptist Church, 206 Depot Street, El Campo, TX 77437 or to Alzheimer Association, 225 N Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, IL, 60601
