Listen to Obituary

Becky Wiggins Stricker, 84, of El Campo, was born to Bill and Juanita Wiggins on January 10, 1942. She would later welcome her siblings David, Jim, Sandra, and Robert. Her family’s greatest loss was the death of her teenage brother, David. She passed away on his birth date, April 1, 2026.

After graduating from John H. Reagan High School in 1960, she was employed at Bank of the Southwest until 1964. Marriage and motherhood offered new beginnings. She was committed to her children Mary, John, and Sara. They grew up seeing her sew, cook, and garden. She enjoyed finding the next new recipe or fabric pattern to create new items for them.

Most people in the El Campo and Sealy areas knew her as “Ms. Becky at Walmart”. For 28 years, she loved connecting with customers and fellow associates who became a second family to her. If Ms. Becky brought a dessert to share, it didn’t last long! Her home cooking brought joy to many.

Outside of work, she doted on her pets and became an avid reader. She visited the local library on a regular basis. Since she read books so quickly, the librarians would contact her right away when new books were ready to be shelved. They learned that Becky had great book sense! If she liked a book, it would be a popular read! After reading The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah, Becky declared that it was her favorite work of fiction. Books offered a whole new world to her especially after she retired. Her great love of stories also made movies and television shows a popular pastime for her.

She is survived by her children, Mary Stricker Grim (Ken), John Stricker (Jennifer), and Sara Stricker Kelly (Billy); grandchildren Erin Grim, Caitlin Grim Brake (Christian), Austin Kelly (Angel), Jensen Stricker, Casey Kelly Clark (Austine), and William Kelly; great-grandchildren Savannah and Michael Kelly, Joshua and Andrew Brake. Her brothers, James Wiggins (Leigh) and Robert Wiggins (Tammy), will also miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Arthur Wiggins, Jr. and Juanita Meyer Wiggins; her brother, David Allen Wiggins, and her sister, Sandra Wiggins McDougal.

In keeping with her wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. If you would like to remember her, pick up a good book, give your loved ones a hug, cook something delicious, and make a donation to your local library. When you think about someone, pick up the phone and TALK to them.
